Mythical Wales is the agency responsible for the recording, protection and stewardship of the mythological creatures of Cymru.
Our remit covers the beasts, beings and spirits native to the Welsh landscape. These include the afanc, the llamhigyn y dŵr, the coblyniaid and more, and the lakes, mountains, mines and valleys that they inhabit.
The organisation maintains a register of known creatures and their locations, marks the sites where they may be encountered, and oversees those sites to prevent disturbance or loss. It promotes responsible tourism to promote and preserve these marvels.
Wales is the ancestral homeland of a great many of the world's mythological traditions, and its creatures represent the oldest surviving population of their kind. It is our task to protect them.
