The churchyard of St. Digain's Church is home to the Llangernyw Yew, a prehistoric tree over 3,000 years old. The churchyard is inhabited by Angelystor (the "Recording Spirit"), a cyhyraeth. Every year on Nos Calan Gaeaf (Halloween) and New Year's Eve, a booming voice echoes from the altar inside the church, chanting the names of the local parish members who are destined to die in the coming year. Do not attend on these dates.
